Northern Facades Limited is raising the bar in fire resistance performance.

ISO Clip, our Thermal Isolation Clip (bracket), has successfully passed the NFPA 285 Standard Test Method for Evaluation of Fire Propagation Characteristics of Exterior Wall Assemblies Containing Combustible Components and CAN/ULC-S134-13 Standard Test Method for Fire Test of Exterior Wall Assemblies.

ACCUMET composite panel system, incorporating our ISO Clip thermal bracket, successfully passed the NFPA 285 fire test at the Intertek testing facility in San Antonio, TX. NFPA 285 is a wall assembly fire test incorporating all wall components together to achieve compliance. NFPA 285 is referenced in ICC IBC 2018 Section 2603.5.5 Vertical and lateral fire propagation, which states the exterior wall assembly shall be tested in accordance with and comply with the acceptable criteria of NFPA 285. The above information is incorporated under Section 2305.5 Exterior walls of buildings of any height, and includes exterior walls of buildings of Type I, II, III or IV construction.

ISO Clip has also been successfully used in two CAN/ULC-S134-13 test assemblies, one with a non-combustible cladding and the second with the ACCUMET composite panel system. In both cases, the ISO Clip did not contribute to the propagation of fire. Clause of the National Building Code of Canada requires that all exterior wall assemblies that use combustible components, including minor components such as thermal clips (brackets), pass CAN/ULC-S134-13.

These results further demonstrate that building owners, Architects, and project specifiers in Canada and the US can confidently specify and detail ISO Clip on their latest projects.
